Diana Ross at IRON MAN premiere
What hell! Wow! Well, last night at the premiere of Iron Man, The wonderful Diana Ross made an appearance.
It was a very well attended and awaited film and should do well as the begining of the sumer movies begins. Frankly, most anything with Downey is great.
But Diana, Who suggested you wear this outfit? Was it raining? Did you just throw on some rags, tied them around you and placed them over your gym wear moments before. Golashes too that match!!! No matter..babe when you get it together you do it better than the rest. We know how stunning you can be..and hey we are not all perfect everyday God knows. Probably not a movie on my to do list but here is the USA today linkhttp://www.usatoday.com/life/people/2008-04-28-iron-man-premiere_N.htm

Vidal Sassoon to speak for a cause.
Vidal Sassoon to speak for a cause.
This is really an honorable man. A man of respect and his reputation and mind brought the hair styling industry to a level that continues and is imitated by all other companies. It all began here with him. I am one of the lucky ones that worked in his Beverly Hills Salon on Rodeo Drive in the 70's....Yes he was present. It really was an incredible experience and his legacy and inspiration carries today. Thank You to Vidal and his artists..especially the ones during that wonderful time in our industry. http://www.seriousbusiness.net/
This event, being held in New Orleans will be very well attended and fun, exciting, inspirational. The name Sassoon continues to create an idea and an industry trademark held my no one else in the hair dressing industry. I am eternally grateful for my own experience in the 70's with this company. The fact that I was even hired to train in the salon and apprentice one of the international directors was so scarry ( i was very yong and intimidated) and empowering. But it really did give me all I needed to continue for 30 years and to advise the younger "wanna be a hair stylist" group to follow in this pattern and educate yourself. Today the company continues to move forward but others such as Toni and Guy credit Sassoon and mimick the salon programs and the education programs in the salons and in the academy. Vidal was also the first salon to develope retail professional products lines. No one can hold a candle to the history and all hair industry and fashion moguls and icons... honor this man.

His Majesty breaks it out!
Prince plays Coachella, covers Radiohead
“You are the coolest place on earth right now!”
'Coachella, I am here.' Prince hit the stage at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival with that announcement, heralding his arrival as the much-anticipated headliner of the summer festival.
Shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday, Prince strutted onto the stage wearing white pants and a white shirt with glittery fringe. His performance, the centerpiece of the three-day festival, was announced only two weeks ago, immediately making an already very hip festival of 125-plus bands significantly more in-demand. Not many can knock it out of the park like Prince!Saturday, April 26, 2008
Madonna Shows Her Documentary At Tribeca Festival
Madonna Shows Her Documentary At Tribecal Festival
Madonna's harrowing new documentary on Malawi is clearly designed to draw attention to the poverty-stricken nation's plight and help to its people. But the superstar doesn't think much about enlisting aid from the U.S. government.
"I don't know what our government does period, instead of getting us in more debt and blowing up countries," she told the audience at the Tribeca Film Festival after premiering the film "I am Because We Are" on Thursday night. The packed audience included close friend Rosie O'Donnell and Natalie Portman.
Madonna produced and narrated the film on Malawi after she traveled there, where she met the toddler David Banda, whom she took home and is in the process of adopting.
The film shows the abject poverty that children face, how the AIDS crisis is claiming lives, the deplorable conditions that cause disease and other hindrances to Malawian life. However, the film urges people to volunteer and tries to offer hope.
After the film, Madonna and director Nathan Rissman took questions from the audience - one of which was from a filmgoer who wondered what the federal government could do. Madonna replied that change should come from the people, not the government.
"It's our own job to change that and I think it's a fool's errand to rely on the government to change things."
Madonna was also asked about the difficulty in adopting children from Malawi. Her adoption of David with husband Guy Ritchie has yet to be approved, though the boy has been living with the family since the fall of 2006.
"It's a new concept, the concept of adoption, consequently it's very very time consuming," she said. "I guess if you really want to do it you have to be willing to walk through the fire."
Madonna said she is looking for a distribution deal so the film can be seen in more theaters, and hopes to get it on DVD soon: "Fingers crossed, that will be happening soon."
"I Am Because We Are," is not Madonna's only project these days - her new album "Hard Candy" is released in stores on Tuesday."

Although blow drying hair seems like it should be a simple undertaking there can be a lot of hidden gotchas that result in home blow outs that are less than salon perfect.
Why? I asked three famous hair pros - Ken Paves (Jessica Simpson, Eva Longoria, Brittany Murphy), Robert Hallowell (Geena Davis, Mary Louise Parker, Jennifer Love Hewitt) and Paul Mitchell Premiere Educator, Barbara Lhotan, to share their blow drying secrets.
I specifically asked each of the hair experts why blow outs, whether to create straight, curly or wavy styles, always seem to look so much better when done by a professional.
Ken Paves who wears his famous red blow dryer literally slung like a gun from his belt explained that "the trick to perfect blow outs is using the right styling products and learning how to use the right sized brushes in conjunction with the blow dryer for the desired results".
Robert Hallowell commented that "there are lots of short cuts he uses every day" because he works on the set of Commander In Chief in a cramped little hair and makeup trailer and that "perfect blow outs take lots of practice, which professionals have because they blow dry hair every day". Robert pointed out that it is "always easier to get great blow outs when someone else is doing them for you".
Barbara Lhotan laughed and confessed that "even she doesn't get her hair as stick straight or sleek as when it is done by a fellow stylist". The reason? There are several reasons and secrets about blow drying that Barbara (along with Ken and Robert) agreed to share in the steps below:
1. Proper Direction of Blow Dryer Air Flow.
Barbara explained that to get that super sleek straight look the air flow from the blow dryer needs to be directed "down" the hair shaft from the roots until the ends.
That may sound relatively simple but in reality it means that you need to elevate the nozzle of the blow dryer above your head. Not only is this a challenging task for some short armed people, it can be quite tiring to hold a blow dryer up above your head for an extended period of time.
Barbara suggests sitting on a chair and holding the blow dryer over the top of your head and directing the air flow down the shaft does make it easier on the arms.

A Conversation with Diana Ross-Lecture
Back in March, I attended an event in Houston, Texas. It was held at a beautiful, large theater The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts- Sarofim Hall. This was the first time that Diana Ross has appeared in a lecture format and not as the Diva we all love on stage. She was beautifully dressed but simple. No music was sung or performed.
Moments before her introduction music and scenes recalling the 40 plus years of wonderful and memorable songs..hit after hit and scenes from her movies. It was so exciting...then she walked on to a thunderous applause. I was grinning from ear to ear. Miss Ross spoke about many issues. Life, fame, raising her 5 kids, spirituality, religion. How she has been able to get thru and live with the same demons many of us share. In other words a life that is no less but much more than extraordinary became a life we could actually be in line and one one with. After all we are all the same in many ways. We all want the same things in many ways.
Her voice, her laughter, her personality was a joy to be exposed to on this level. Personal, insightful. I was seated in the 5th row and therefore had a great view.
The theater as large as it was..well it was sold out. there was a personal question and answer period from many audience members. I am sure the fundraiser was a success.
Afterwards an intimate cocktail party took place where we were to be more one to one with Diana. When she entered the room from the rear...to everyone's surprise..she had a smile, that Diana Ross smile that is so famous around the globe. She shined as tho a spot light was around her. The crowds moved in on her so heavily. Everyone wanted to touch,be a part of that special being. She only spoke for a bit and had to leave.
Disappointment was plentiful. The Brilliant Lecture series people had lied to us to make money. Diana was not and could not stay to share more, sign books,no photographer to take pictures with each VIP guest. No it did not happen as advertised or even told in personal voice..I left disappointed but a smile in my mind and heart. She was inspirational and kind. I am sure and have no doubt she felt bad about how she was manipulated by this organization and fans were not happy...but in a way we were. Some of us flew from far. Some from the U.K,Holland,Denmark, the Carolina's etc.
But I did have my camera and took a few. Diana Ross is a legend for all time. Dear in my heart and soul, as in those of others. BABY, BABY BABY.OHHH! BABY!

El Dorado Texas Abuse
What in hell is going on? Let's begin with what fricken time are these women from? The Today show interview was freaky. It was like they were on some kind of medications. Any mother who loves really loves her children would have been aware and known what everyone knows. Oprah and Lisa Ling have gone to this compound and revealed all their weirdness. There is something about 13 year old girls forced into marriages with 50 year old men with many wives that just is not right. Forced and unable to choose. Somehow the Constitution is not working for them. They have what????? Their own laws. What happened to freedom for all...including gay people to live their lives as they see fit too and not according to other's beliefs or what other's think is right in their own mind. These children should be far away from their useless mothers. No protection, which is what children need most. Maybe a drug test on these women..man they were out of it.
Now about that hairstyle and their dress. WOW oh WOW! Take a look..the pioneer days is alive..but not well. So is the same exact shampoo set. Wonder what the Pope thinks...really who cares and who listens really. Most of us think for a moment on this and then gewt back to that all important cell phone call..Can'T miss a call can we...the world is crashing down if we do not accept that next call.
All those Mothers should be prosecuted. So many kids, so much rape of the soul and spirit. No fashion education either.

Hair,What about her Hair!
Riddle me this: did Beyonce actually take Jay-Z up the aisle last week? That's the $64,000 question on everyone's lips. Why do we care?
Whatever, there's no denying that the latest whispers surrounding the singer's 'nuptials' will send the rumour mill into meltdown. People magazine is going nuts, no story, no pics.
Barely a week has gone by since the couple allegedly tied the knot during a hush-hush ceremony at a lavish NY penthouse on Friday, and now word has it that Beyonce is in the pudding club.
Yes, rumour has it that a pregnancy was the reason for Beyonce and her beau running up that aisle quicker than a speeding bullet, faster than a speeding locomotive.
The New York Daily News just published an article alleging that the Bootylicious singer is with child. OH MY GOD! NO!
But with no official confirmation from either Beyonce's or Jay-Z's reps that a wedding even took place, I'd hold off congratulating the happy couple just yet. Mary J. took care of that.
If it does turn out to be true, it'll be the second time the Knowles clan has witnessed a shotgun wedding: Beyonce's little sister, Solange, married her boyfriend Daniel Smith at the age of 17, after learning that she was carrying his child. They have since divorced.
And just to add fuel to the fire, Beyonce has actually indicated in the past that she'd like to get busy at some point: "I want to get married, and I really want a family. In a perfect world I'd have two boys and a girl." How sweet.
Shotgun wedding or not, turns out that that particular metaphor does actually hold water as far as the alleged nuptials is concerned.
According to the UK's Daily Mirror, B & J readily anticipated that some of their guests at the wedding would interpret the 'plus one' notation on their invite as 'plus gun'.
Word has it that J's rapper buddies allegedly have a penchant for brandishing guns and blades and bringing their artillery with them to such events.
All guests at the wedding, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Martin and Destiny Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, were instructed to leave their cameras and mobile phones at home, and frisked before entry to the penthouse.
Nice. You know a marriage is off to a good start when guns and ammo are on the menu.
But where was her hairdresser..he would talk! Where was her extension tech...he'd talk. Her colorist ..someone take the bleach and the foils away!
Well she is a beauty no matter what.

All I can do is thank all...and some might be reading this Blog. THIS IS FOR YOU! Thank you. Jade

Katie Holmes and Victoria Beckham
Katie Holmes. Interesting to see her become a sort of Butterfly. Go back a few years around the time of the Batman movie and we were not impressed or hardly knew of her. Well maybe if you watched that teeny bopper show "Dawson's Creek" on that channel a lot of folks do not watch KTLA. So she became famous for dating and marrying Tom Cruise. But she has come into her own. looking very good most of the time. Cutting off her hair was perfect...no doubt with Victoria Beckhams influence....but also turning the hair world upside down for the good. Great haircut both the A Line and the newly squared off bob. Looks youthful, elegant and in her own way sexy. Great hair color. Good to see movement towards Brunettes. Victoria went blond, back to brown and back to blond and back to her A line bob,but always looking dynamite. She really knocks it down. Irritating at times as a hairstylist that the public follows what corner celebrities pee in. After all the celebrity did not create the style nor the color they wear. The stylist did. Usually a well educated stylist is informed, educated in coming looks, even tho there might not be anything NEW, and offers them to clients before the anchorwoman on KTLA is wearing it. Which at that point it is time to really do a quick change. Some do not listen to us. Some do and appreciate us. In my opinion the best dressed woman in Hollywood is Mrs. David Beckham...and with the best taste in men. HMMM, I would not mind. She was very well presented on Larry King, classy, educated and clearly into her husband.
In my opinion the most beautiful and intriguing is the future Mrs. Pitt. Angelina Jolie. The couple that Hollywood stars are starstruck over. BTW another Brunette. She also had highlights placed and removed..better without them.Another stunning Brunette Eva Longoria did the same.Last year highlighted her hair and it did not do her justice. Boom, end of highlights ...for now.
Naomi
Wow! So what has happened to Naomi Campbell. Lashing out, being arrested for misbehaving in public. Well, an example of being considered one of the most beautiful in the world. Money...lots of it. Magazine covers, famous boyfriends, the world at her feet...except she is nuts. Example of the fact that beauty, extreme and fame does not give you much at all. Does she seem unhappy, angry,so egotistical.....clearly yes. Beauty and perfection does not buy you much in the real sense of what matters. Be your own personal best. create your own happiness. Do not compare yourself to others or what you perceive to be happiness based on what you se in others. Naomi has been violent and impetuous many times. She needs help. We all need help. In a salon, when you look in the mirror..ask your stylist to help you be your own personal best. Your own,not what you husband,in his own mind thinks suits you....but you are still not that happy.
